Kansa's Universal Studios Project - Osaka, Japan

Kansa's Universal Studios Project - Osaka, Japan

At the beginning of 2019, we made 2 chandeliers and 12 wall lights for the new theatre production of the film Sing for Universal Studios in Japan. For this, we created CAD drawings of original designs and revisions sent to us by interior designers.

Chandelier

Overall, the chandeliers were 3 metres in diameter and 1 metre high, with two tiers. Along with the wall lights, the shipment was 760KG, all air-freighted.

Acrylic Brass Panels
All the filigree metalwork was brass with a lightly distressed finish. There were over 2,000 pieces of acrylic cut using the waterjet method. In the final design, the acrylic was layered by up to 3 pieces, all fixed together to create a desirable colour by the designers.

We went to Osaka to install the project which enhances the Art Deco ambience.

Since it's opening, the theatre production has been incredibly successful, and Universal are exceptionally pleased with the outcome and performance.
